    After her first contact with the mountains in the Pyrenees, Marta fell in love with the environment and became a hiking guide. While she was traveling the world with her partner, they ended up choosing Chamonix in France as their base - defining it as the best place she ever experienced. Marta leads groups throughout the year, equally enjoying summer and winter, with a particular preference for leading all women groups. What a fantastic achievement and what a view! Is the photo at 16:00 the Hinterstoisser traverse? That part of the wall was named after Andreas Hinterstoisser who became the first person to climb it in during the legendary 2nd Norwand ascent attempt in 1936. Hinterstoisser used a 'daring' tension traverse to get past this apparently very smooth vertical slab section, then set a horizontal fixed rope back to the left hand side of the Rote Fluh, thus creating the Hinterstoisse travese. Once the other 3 members of his team (Kurz, Angerer and Rainer) had passed, Hinterstoisser removed the rope and they all went happily along to the next section oblivious to the fact that this action would play a dire role in one of the most fascinating climbing tragedies ever recorded in human history. BTW, it was Karl Mehringer and Max Sedlmeyer who died at 'Death bivouac' in 1935, not the 'Sedlmeyer brothers'. Mehringer's remains were found in 1962 by Swiss climbers below the Flat Iron at the lefthand end of the second ice field.

    Absolutely love your sensitivity aspect when it comes to climbing and summiting mountains. My last experience has been nothing short of fully spiritual! Yes there’s a physical aspect of it but it’s the physical and pushed my spiritual awakening, awareness of oneself. Would be lovely to connect!

    Le Mont Blanc n’est pas un sommet facile, ce guide professionnel sait de quoi il parle. La distinction technique / physique / conditions qui ne dépendent pas de nous, est essentielle. La montagne décide toujours : garder cela à l’esprit en permanence.

    Hi, Thanks for the video, really enjoyed the views. I would greatly appreciate your help... I suppose to land in Geneva on July 2 at 9:40 am I wanted to know if you think I will be able to get to Les Contamines Montjoie (14km +/- from the starting point) on the same day, or is it better for me to wait the day in Les-Houches and start the trek the day after?

    What about doing a full trek in the end of September or early October?

    • @57hours
      @57hours Місяць тому

      Hi! Here is what our International Mountain Leader Emma says: "My trips start end of June going through to end of September. And then September, you know, starting to get more autumnal weather. It gets cooler. All I would say, if you want peace and quiet, end of September, but be prepared for kind of random weather and be prepared for a couple of things in the infrastructure to have closed, like a couple of mountain huts. You can’t always get lunches because a few of the places might be closed, but it’ll be very quiet." Hope this helps! ❤️

    Thank you for posting this amazing video. 😎 I visited the southwest and Yosemite - my favourite National-Park - years ago three times. But I didn't had the courage to climb Half Dome in a one-day-hike. One time a part of our travelling-group incl. my partner started to hike to Half Dome early in the morning. When they had started to climb the cables, it began snowing, the way got slippery and the cables were covered by ice. The group had to cancel the hike and came - very disappointed - back to the campground. Sweet memories years ago. Greetings from Germany ...

      Hi! 🙂 If you’d prefer to rent an e-bike, you can add it to your booking at an additional cost. Keep in mind that these options are subject to availability. You can choose between aluminum frame bikes and tier 2 carbon frame bikes. 🚲 Self-guided tours are dependent on the guides and accommodations, so please schedule a call with one of our Adventure Experts who will assist you with your request.📞 Since we have employees all over the world, it’s best to schedule a call in advance. Very nicely done video! The 7-day program sounds great for anyone looking for an introduction to mountaineering, ice, rock, snow, a shot at Mont Blanc. Rest day if needed. Also, it is great you have all those things to do if the weather is not good. I got stormed off the Matterhorn several years ago, but was able to do a super fun route lower down. Just have to remain flexible and take what the mountain offers. I climbed Mont Blanc last June via the Les Trois Monts route, tons of fun, had a crevasse to jump, last ridge before the summit push was two pitches of almost ice climbing, howling wind the last few hundred meters to the top. The sunrise from the top was spectacular! Going back next year, will look to do either a long steep ice climb or maybe one of the rock spires. Then off hiking to Zermatt! Anyone thinking this might be fun, I highly recommend that 7-day program - sounds ideal! But as the video mentions, do make sure you do your endurance training. I'm deep into my 60s so I probably have to pay more attention to training than most people, but for everyone it is a lot more fun if you are seriously ready for the effort.
